We are also proud to officially announce a children's book line coming towards the end of '09: BANANA PHONE BOOKS, and yes----we are putting out cook books too!

08/03/09: All August titles released on time (August 1st) and are NOW AVAILABLE everywhere online and orderable through book stores. Anxiously awaiting first copies and the August authors will get theirs soon, and we begin extensive marketing plans this week. We're designing banners, posters and other promotional tools Working on September titles and sifting through all submissions and will narrow my decisions down to about ten more titles for end-of-the-year releases. We'd like to welcome author S.D. Hintz to BBS and are adding his "Blood Orchard" to our Winter line-up!

07/29/09: All August titles submitted to the printer, and we're starting pre-marketing! Also, let's welcome Ryan B. Clark as a bonafide partner, essentially my right-hand man. And we're going to the Horrorfind Weekend---September 25-27 in Hunt Valley Maryland (near Baltimore) and promise to make a big splash. We're also reviewing all 117 submissions we've received since Spring, and will announce new authors very soon for our Winter line-up!

03/26/2010: ON CALENDAR first week of April- royalties out for remainder of 2009, and first ARCs of Spring Titles, plus TOURING SCHEDULE! Spring titles official release date: MAY 28! Summer titles still tentative but will spread out individually JULY thru first week of AUGUST (dates announced sometime in April)

02/01/2010: Getting the year in gear: Preditors & Editors poll results in, w/BBS & our zombie antho in the top ten, with runners-up The Last Church & Gentle Art of Making Enemies for horror novel, and Midnight Secrets for romance close behind.

We have enough on our plate this year so far, so we're no longer accepting submissions. Royalties out for August first authors, next pay period is the first week of April to round out 2009's last quarter. Our office underwent an overhaul/expansion/upgrade in January which slowed things down, but that's a done deal and we're running smooth.

10/28/09: Lots of stuff, so let's get started.....

Fred Wiehe's "Holiday Madness" just released this month! Also, congratulations to all the Anthology of the Living Dead authors for making the anthology our recent bestseller!

Black Bed Sheet now accepts credit cards for author orders as a payment option, and soon we'll have our books to order directly from this site for our readers! Horrorfind last September was a success! Our attending authors rocked at the vendors table, did interviews, readings, and made more of an impact than any single publisher there! Nick put together an 8-part video series of the Horrorfind experience, see links and videos towards the top of this page....check out more at Youtube!

We are postponing any further publications this years.....our new/forthcoming titles will be released beginning early 2010....we have a lot on our plate now and are concentrating on properly marketing the titles we already have on the market.

Nick will be in South Carolina beginning October 29th, and will set out on the road with Francy Weatherman, the host of the popular blogtalk radio show "Francy & Friends", from there to Sacramento....stopping in Atlanta, Oklahoma City, several Texas stops, Roswell NM (promoting "The Everborn"), and many towns along the way. We'll return on November 5th to a new life together!

8/25/2010: Howdy folks! We just announced most of our remaining 2010 titles, most coming out this Holiday season. We'll be at the Horrorfind con in Gettysburg with a hotel party & a meet & greet, and this Fall we have a blogtalk radio show rearing its ugly head. We're working on "Read Between the Sheets," a short internet film selling our stuff. Also my "Looks like a Rat to Me" comic finally arrived and is available at the BBS store! Oh yes, and I renovated the BBS store, too!

05/30/10: After an intense battle against time and technical difficulties involving font embedding and PDF files, software malfunctions and Memorial Day weekend, there was a delay in the release of our four new Summer titles (previously referred to as Spring titles). The official release "day" has now been changed from May 29th to "Memorial Day weekend." They have been uploaded and accepted and am waiting their availability status, which will be announced here and on Twitter and Facebook first. They are, however, AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER at the Black Bed Sheet Book Store NOW! They'll also start appearing in all the major online stores and will be orderable in major book stores this first week of June. Also, as of the first week of June, all of our titles will be available on ADOBE EBOOK as well as KINDLE! Also, our site is going through a groovy renovation, so expect updated pages throughout DOWNWARDEN.COM!

04/3/2011: IT'S SPRING TITLE TIME! Also, we've been breaking some ground on industry firsts. We're always trying to figure out better ways to sell more books, as well as to innovate and think outside the norm, especially in this computer age where information and communication technology surrounds us and binds us kind of like the Force in Star Wars. Now, we're incorporating this technology to present Virtual Book Signing Events, free PDFs and free MP3 author readings for virtually every book we sell, and are adding the availability of downloadable ebooks convertable to every format, for sale cheap! 01/28/2011: Just updated site......royalties are out for BBS authors January thru October of 2010. BBS also welcomes new authors Brandon Ford and Jessica Lynne Gardner, and Norm Applegate (Blood Bar) returns with First to Die! New book trailers soon, and touring schedules. On radio, we have decided to pour our efforts into the Francy & Friends Blogtalk show so our own BBS radio show will integrate with Francy.

01/09/2012: After a treacherous 2011 ending with all sorts of setbacks during the holiday season although we had a spectacular Black Friday, launched our ebook-only line and released two outstanding titles (Forever Richard, Whispers in the Cries), we are back on track and in for an exciting 2012. Just around the corner is a trip to the World Horror convention in Salt Lake the weekend of April first, which will launch our Spring titles, Shot in the Dark Comics has exciting BBS titles turning into comics & graphic novels, and Hacker's Source has a colossal print issue coming up.
