Author of Charla

It has been a long back and forth with this.

The script adaptation is almost finished (harder work than previously imagined), a teaser trailer was shot but never delivered, directors have come and gone, producers have come and gone, but it's all finally coming together in 2014. Right now we have the two lead actresses (CHARLA and AMELIE), a director, a couple of specialized producers, an executive producer (money man), music composer, production assistant, cinematographer, lights, sound, etc, and as soon as the money hits the bank (guaranteed in the next few months) the project will begin immediately with the rest of the casting, meetings, location scouting, rehearsals, and shooting dates.

Initial interest came from an independent producer/director in LA who had read the book and thought it would make a good horror movie that would be easy and fairly inexpensive to shoot, so he got in touch. That producer/director eventually got busy with other projects and the CHARLA MOVIE has now moved on without him. But that initial interest sparked a fire! During that time other producers were made aware of the CHARLA movie project, a small crew (to shoot the trailer) came onboard, the word spread and a couple of other directors showed interest in directing the picture (based on the book, a mysterious short script, and peer recommendations). A buzz was generated and other film people got interested and involved.

The film industry is wild, things change fast, get cancelled fast, and happen even faster. One never really knows what will happen. I can tell you there are some solid people involved with this project, everything is coming together, and the money to get it all done will be available shortly, so it's just a matter of time.

At the end of it all, we hope to have a decent picture, something we can be proud of, something viewers will enjoy.

For now we get ready, we envision, and we plan.

Thank you for your interest. Stay tuned.
