Greetings, or, Finally We Get Our Own Community Forum

Postby Downwarden2x on Tue Jun 05, 2012 6:15 pm

Why a forum? When I was setting up our new online store I thought (when I knew I could put one together) why not? I need to keep finding ways to bring BBS authors together because, let's face it, it's for all our mutual benefits. But on top of that, it's another way to bring readers, customers, fans, other authors and publishers, prospective BBS authors and just about anyone interested in the craft all get together under one umbrella. I thought it would be not only a great way to draw people to us, and a way to do that is to draw ourselves together. Also, this could be a darn good way to communicate directly with each other, either individually or all at the same time. I hope it works, I encourage all of you to visit and post whenever you can and invite your readers, fans and peers to participate.

We also have forums for our partners, writing advice, topics which may help those wanting to submit to BBS how to better understand how things work which in turn makes things easier on me. Francy & Friends has their official message board here, too, Black Hamster will have posted broadcasting schedules here as well as content details.

As soon as someone signs with BBS, they can immediately introduce themselves to us here. Also, before this community was started, we had nowhere we could post all of our events and book signings together at a glance. If this community actually works, it will attract further attention to us, and our authors may hook up with book reviewers or independent film makers, other writers, even other publishers, who just happen by as guests and hence further your careers.

It was a difficult and time-consuming tribulation setting up both this community forum and our online store, and it's all for the greater glory. I hope you all make use of it as Black Bed Sheet Books continues to grow.

Best to you all,
Inspiration and horror!

This forum went through several looks over the past week but I think the one you're seeing now is right on the money. Dark but colorful.

It's a great site, Nick! The foreign language thing is a great idea. You should start a forum for drunken cats ;)

Great idea! I miss message boards. All the ones I used to post at died off with the popularity of facebook, twitter etc. Thanks for the invite and forum.

Thanks, Eve! I agree. I just think it's a way to push us a little further into the world, for whatever it does for us. I think as we progress and keep this forum going little by little, by a year from now it'll be prosperous and pulling its weight and compliment our other efforts to push what we're doing to greater heights. Or not. Either way, I'll still like tacos.
