Let's talk about Charla.

Discussion and Questions:

I'll begin by saying that during the preparation phase of the novel, Charla didn't start out as a main character in the book, her daughter Amelie and her boyfriend were the stars at first (it was going to be a very different book) but as writing began, right on Chapter 1, Charla muscled her way in and pretty much took over, plans changed, some things added, others removed.

In the end she even demanded the book be titled "Charla".

It took me almost a year to write Charla, four months or so on the first draft and the rest of the time rewriting. I love the first draft phase of a novel, but I find the rewriting phase to be mostly "work" and not as enjoyable, therefore, more procrastinating and a longer process.

So there, I started the ball rolling. Any questions or comments?

Charla is a great read!
Sex, drugs, and demons. One without the other is like BP without J.
