1.  What is Diverse Media?   Diverse Media started in 2002, when author Nicholas Grabowsky, a horror novelist traditionally published since the late '80's, decided to experiment with Print On Demand self-publishing.  He developed a "publishing entity" of peers that filled various needs such as promotion, help with setting up at conventions and other appearances, graphic design and editing, to add to his efforts in making his self-published works more successful.  Diverse Media was officially born on paper when Nicholas made a deal with Trancas International Films to issue a special edition of his Halloween IV novelization, utilizing Print On Demand services from Booksurge, LLC but officially listing Diverse Media as the publisher.  Since then, "Diverse Media" has published other works of his in this fashion, promoting, maintaining/updating the official web site, as well as designing the interior and exterior of each release and preparing it for sale.  We've become very good at doing this kind of thing, and we like doing it, so now Diverse Media is no longer Grabowsky-exclusive.  We'd like to make this a small online business where we can provide similar services to genre writers who don't know how to design and properly publish and promote their own work but have a work to sell.

2.  What services do you offer?   We can design your book cover, front and back; convert your document to Word or PDF; design your work's look and layout to maximize its sales potential; submit your book to a small, independent or Print On Demand publisher for you;  suggest or launch promotional campaigns;  for instance, you can submit a novel-length story to us, and we'll turn it into a cool published book you can sell and be proud of.  If you need help with your book, feel free to tell us what you'd like done and we can work something out.   And we'll work with you personally, one-on-one, every step of the way.

3.  How much does it cost?   Because our business is small and we work with you personally, it depends on your preferences and what you'd like us to do for you.  Just contact us with your goals in mind, we'll calculate the best price we can have it all done for and work with you on it, and we'll charge a little over that amount for our time.  We're really down to earth when it comes to listening to your needs, mapping out what we can do for you, and getting you where you want to be.

4.  What are your guidelines?   Our guidelines are very flexible, but we particularly cater to the horror writing community, writers of all forms of dark fiction, some science fiction and fantasy, related works of poetry, some nonfiction, or any work that makes it exciting for us to put together regardless of genre because we think it's really cool.  You must have a finished work that you want published in tangible, sellable hard or soft bound copy suitable for sale in book stores.  We prefer computer document files saved in Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works or similar common programs.

5.  When can I get started?   As soon as you'd like, provided the work you want published is finished.  If you're near completion, we can still talk.  Just use our contact information to drop us a line about what you're doing and how we can help.  Of course, we'll always give you an estimate of how much time it'll take for us to do our job.

6.  Where are you located?   We're located in Antelope, right next to Sacramento in Northern California USA, and we have an office in nearby Roseville as well.

7.  How can I contact you?   You may get a hold of us at diversemedia@msn.com or downwarden@earthlink.net.

8.  What we don't do:   We're not a literary agency.

9.  Examples of Our Work:   Recently, we put together, edited and did back cover content (actually Nick himself did) for Walter Koenig's 2005 Sci-Fi novel Buck Alice and the Actor-Robot (Walter is the original Star Trek series' "Chekov."  The book also boasts an introduction by Logan's Run author George Clayton Johnson.  We also did Jake Istre's Shocking Tales of Murder & Insanity.

Other works of recent note are displayed here by covers designed by us, as well as all works exclusively Grabowsky :

"Flatty Kat:  Tales of an Urban Feline" by Phyllis Haupert.  Enchantingly humorous children's book with full color illustrations, coming late this 2005 holiday season!
